One way that commitment is fulfilled is through our amazing conservation education programs. KECA’s resources have been focused on improving hundreds of acres on the property surrounding the Elk Country Visitor Center along with many projects on both public and private land. KECA is membership based, but volunteer driven, with volunteers helping us complete our mission on a daily basis. We welcome you to come and experience Elk Country for yourself. Guests will enjoy conservation education programs, our 4D story theater, our new ECCO Building (Elk Country Campus Outdoors Building) which is available for programs and events, the interactive displays and diorama in the heart of the Visitor Center as well as the hundreds of wild elk that call the property surrounding the Visitor Center home. KECA operates and manages the Elk Country Visitor Center and the surrounding properties in Benezette, Pennsylvania to benefit the future of Elk Country, and the enjoyment of hundreds of thousands of visitors each year. Visit Elk Expo Don’t miss the Elk Expo in held annually in August. Seeing and hearing these magnificent elk in person is an awe-inspiring experience. The Elk Country Visitor Center is a unique public/private partnership between the Keystone Elk Country Alliance and Pennsylvania’s Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. This center, located near Winslow Hill, is jointly managed by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance and the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Visitors can also experience and learn about other native plants and animals, the area’s history, and the surrounding ecosystem. All trails are wheelchair accessible and lead to viewing areas where you can see the elk in a natural setting. The Keystone Elk Country Alliance (KECA) is a Pennsylvania based 501(c) non-profit wildlife conservation organization. The Elk Country Visitor Center is a world-class, eco-friendly visitor and educational center and premier location to view Elk in their natural habitat. ELK VISITORS CENTER: In 2010 the new Elk Country Visitor Center opened. The Visitor Center features three observation trails with viewing areas and interpretive wayside displays.
